I was glad when they said to me,
“Let us go into the house of the Lord.”
“Let us go into the house of the Lord.”
Psalm 122:1
About Us:
Lodge Causeway Seventh-day Adventists Church is situated in Fishponds area Bristol.
Seventh-day Adventists accept the Bible as the only source of our beliefs. We consider our movement to be the result of the Protestant conviction Sola Scriptura—the Bible as the only standard of faith and practice for Christians.
We believe in the Trinity of God the Father, Jesus - the Son and the Holy Spirit. We believe that God is our Father, the Creator and Sustainer of the Universe. We believe that Jesus Christ, His son, gave His life on the cross for salvation of the mankind. We believe that when we accept Jesus' sacrifice (which heals the broken connection between God and people) then we can have a new life of hope, joy and love. As we accept the new life Jesus has made possible for all people, we allow the Holy Spirit to work in our lives. The Holy Spirit enables us to live a more fulfilled life. The Holy Spirit enhances our relationship with God and enables us to live a life of peace, kindness and generosity towards other people.
We believe that God gave us all the Holy Bible as our guidebook and by the power of God, living within us by His Spirit, we obey the commandments He has given us, which includes keeping the Seventh Day of the week as Sabbath, a day of Worship.
We believe that there will be a Second coming of Jesus at the end of this world that all people everywhere will witness. We believe that God gives us special abilities and power to those who serve Him and that prophesy is one of these gifts. We believe that we should support God's work with our influence, effort and income.
We believe that we should keep our bodies as healthy as we can to enable us to serve God effectively and let His Spirit dwell within us. We show acceptance of Jesus' sacrifice for us by baptism. This is the symbol of the beginning of a new life covered by God's grace.
We believe that although baptism, faith, obedience, love and understanding of the Bible enhance our lives - these do not save us. Only a personal relationship with God enriches our lives and gives us hope for an eternal life with Him.
